Moonlight Deer

This card was a favorite in class last week. The deer die is very very popular in our neck of the woods and can be used year round. Dawn has a Mans Card Class coming up using this die so be sure to check out the store website for upcoming classes. The sky paper was actually out of our kids section in the store amongs astrouanut papers but I could see a moon lite sky when I walked by and imagined it perfect for a backdrop to this deer die. Dies from 3 different companies were used on this card. And all work in your Cuttlebug!!!

Feel like a Nut

This card is from a class I taught last week and the next couple posts. You can not tell in the photo but it is REAL wood for the part the saying is stamped on. You can also emboss and diecut the real wood sheets since they are so thin.

Where is the Snow?

Goodmorning. The last day of January and we will be in the 40's today. I love it but the snow enthusiast and kids may not. Can't make snowmen with no snow.
This card was from our Extravaganza and I it just never got posted on my blog. I got the idea from a magazine and then used supplies I had on hand. I used liquid applique for the snow spots and just let it dry instead of heating it. Also a gold leafing pen was used around the inside cut.

Cats Pajama's

Finally, the third card from the 'Cats Meow' class. This one also had the original stamped and colored but for the 2nd part I stamped on patterned paper and cut it out and layed over original so there was minimal coloring when done this way. The oval Spellbinder die was left in place and used as a stencil to add some matching ink color to the inside of oval to soften the area.

Second card from the class last week. If you have the winter blues....concider signing up for one of classes offered at Picture This. We'd love to have to join us, it is fun and you always learn something new!!
On this card I had them stamp and color the image but then also stamp again and cut out the mouse and tail, color and popdot over the top of the original image. This really makes the card more interesting. I think I have something 3D on ALL my projects now that I think about it. A Candi was added to the center of the flower. Just that tiny bit of color to match the Bakers Twine ties it all together. I loved working with all the sherbert colors for this class. Watch for the 3 featured cards to be one of the upcoming PT Boards of the month with specials on select stamps.

Have you ever had one of those days? I think we all have. This is the look I get from my cats when they get their baths too....the WHY are you doing this too me?! This is one of the three cards from my 'Cats Meow' class last week. I used Glossy Accents on the bubbles to give them the wet look. And after coloring with Copics...I used the blender pen to put dots by the whiskers.

I borrowed some of Lisa's pony photos to make this sample for the store. We have been busy making fresh samples throughout the store. And when we have over 300 page samples at any given time....its a lot! This is the beautiful winter lline Bl Bunny released this past winter. All of us PT gals just love it. So I finally got to play with some of the paper from that line. On the close up you will see I added bling and it was just the perfect touch. The paper is so pretty that I didn't want to over fill the page so you really notice the pony photos on this layout and the few accents are just subtle.

I have lots of photos of my flower beds. It was a passion of mine and one I had to give up due to my Chiari. Now my many beds are more weeds then flowers so we are slowing shrinking them. But I will have the photos to enjoy and that is why we all scrapbook....to preserve our memories!!

I played with a few different tools on this page. I love punches and dies....you can use them over and over and over. You will want to mark you calendar for our very first Punch Trade In Sale Feb. 3rd-4th. You can trade in ones you no longer use and receive coupons to buy something fun and new.
On the close up you can see where I sanded the edges and that brought out the inner white core of the paper. You could also ink the edges for a more dementional look as well.

Tim Holtz Doily Die

I purchased the Doily die a couple months ago and never got to play with it yet so I used it on a couple pages-for-sale so I could at least say I played with it. lol
It would be very pretty on heritage pages. I just added left over stickers to complete the pages and they'll be added to our basket of pages for sale. The selection changes weekly here and people love them since all they have to do is add their own photos. So I won't list supplies for this one since it was odds and ends.

Another page created over the weekend to add to the pages-for-sale basket. The flowers were left over from one of the previous pages posted and I used a journal rub-on. It needed a little more to tie it all together and the vine border punch seemed to pull it all together.

This is another page I got done for our page kits at the store. A few different tools were used in the creation of this. A Martha Stewart border punch was used for the white vine across the page. A Spellbinders scalloped heart die was used and then I kept the die in place while I inked it so it has the white border. A Cuttlebug heart die was used and then I embossed with the Swiss Dots and sanded it. And a Cheery Lynn vine die was also used. Your tools are an investment but you can use them over and over and over. I love them.

Another layout featuring Shadow. Why do cats love to mess up rugs and hide underneath them?
This is actually the Lily Bee winter line that I was dieing to play with since it came in before the holidays. I finally am and used the back sides since I loved the colors. I punched our several circles and put them down the side of the curved paper to kinda resemble the rug. Then cut a matching heart and added that to the top on yet another circle to tie it all together. I like how it turned out...but the cat is by far cutier then the page. lol

Several years ago when I had time to actually do fun things for my family (that'd be before owning a store) ha
I had the brilliant idea to go out to where my little sister had her horses and get photos of her prized horse at that time with a Santa cap on or the reindeer horns. Yea, the best laid plans and Leanns Law ...blah blah blah. It was freezing, I couldn't tell one horse from the next since they all looked the same and they were not thrilled to have anything on their head!! But I kept at it until I had photo with each horse and figured once I developed them.....her dad could tell me wish one was the correct horse to make a 5x7 photo and frame for a xmas gift.
You can clearly see in the photo the horse was not pleased at all to be subjected to this.

On the close up you can see I added Flower Soft to the fence post for an added effect. And I had to use one of the new Memory Box dies. =)

This is my gentle soul kitty Shadow. He's a big cat but the most sweetest. My Siamese is sassy....as they tend to be. Lucy, the kitten, still has some of the 'feral' in her since she just doesn't understand to retract her claws! And Simba is Simba.
I used flower punches and diecuts to create the dream dots and added the fish and millk accents for a cute touch. The paper already had the flourishes so I simply added some flower accents and the title to complete the page. Took very little time to make...and this is what we keep saying....you can get several pages done in a little time. I did my journaling in tiny print along the edges of the vines. I am not one for journaling but it is important to get the names and dates so if I do not add them somewhere on the page...I at least write it on the back of the page.

Lucy Girl

We took down a lot of the page samples in the store that the paper was no longer available so now we have to kick it in high gear to create new pages. I had some photos of Lucy from October so I put them on the new Bo Bunny paper from fall. Then I used leaf dies and crinkled them and inks them, added a few twigs and a diecut with her name. She still hasn't learned how to sheath her claws. She always has them out. I figure about a month yet and then she can be declawed and fixed. I always do both at the same time so its less tramatic on my cats.

I made 2 of these pages over the weekend that have hit the floor as pages-for-sale. There were 2 of the pretty acetate bulbs left and I knew they'd just hang in store for sale but as soon as we put them on a layout....then they sell. I had Lisa cut the 'memories' title on one of our Pazzle machines and simply embossed the photo mats with a snowflake folder. I punched out a couple snowflakes and covered with Tim Holtz's Distress Stickles to add some more bling to the pages since the acetate has glitter in it. And used a red metallic paper for the shadow on the diecut. I splashed a bit more red in by adding ribbon to the corners of the mattings.

Naughty Cosmo

Happy Friday. I keep forgetting to post these photos to show everyone I tell about Cosmo how naughty he is. lol. He is a sunflower "crack". I usually get to the store between 7-8 am and since the hamsters are in MY office.....this is what I have to listen to all the time. Hamsters nocturnal??? I don't think Cosmo got that memo. He chews on the side of his cage until I go feed him sunflower seeds through the grids. He is always trying to get his sunflowers. And he has taught the other one to do the same thing. I can not tune noises out like most people so he drives me up a wall somedays. And you would think an hour in his ball each morning would do the trick of pooping him out. Nope. He's naughty I tell ya. We still love him though. You can see on the close up that he is smart enough to keep working on the same grid....I assume hoping he will someday get loose. Too smart for his own good.

Snow

We got a little snow the other day. Surely not enough for the kids to get to play in much. Just enough to make the roads nasty. It should only snow at night and then not on the roads. Wouldn't that be perfect? My youngest now has his license so now I worry for both my boys driving on winter roads.

This page will be hitting the store floor as a page kit this week. I was anxious to try the new Memory Box Bianca snowflake die that arrived last week. It is soooo pretty. The detail is awesome. And then I added a few more dies as well to complete the page. And all 3 different companies dies work in the Cuttlebug. NOW all we need is snow to take photos to add. ha

Christmas Carols

You had a wonderful Christmas and now you have all those photos to get made into pages? Here is a very quick page you can make and as I like it.....the paper does the work for you. You can not tell in the photo but the main paper is metallic so I used text weight metallic for the poinsettias I made as well to tie it all together and the completed project has a very elegant look.
I am still playing with my Spellbinders poinsettias dies. I absolutely love them. I added the large one in the bottom right and put a small one on the bell bow at the top left of the page. I then added some gold gems for the centers. I have also added Candi dots, Stickles, pearls and Flower Soft in the past for the centers. If there is enough request....we can turn this into a page kit for the store.

Goodmorning blog followers!! I was at the store all weekend creating. I got another class put together and then some pages for samples and/or sale. So it was a productive weekend. When I was straightening the other day I came across this paper and I think its cute so I put some in my to-do pile to make a sample for the store. The reverse side is the dragonflies so it worked perfect to use for the matting. With the extra I made another page for sale but you could do a 2 page layout instead. And I also had the extra to cut out some of the designs and pop dot them....like the tree and dragonflies. I used the Rose Creation to make the flowers and inked the edges. And added bling to the girl unicorn for a necklace. So a simple deisgn can easily be turned into a cute page.

Wow. The last post for 2011....this past year just flew by. It was a tough year for retailers and many many many people. I am glad we are still hanging in there with the support of our wonderful customers. So heres to wishing everyone a much better 2012. Hope to see you all in the new year.

Punch Art

I made this for our last Fab 5 but then we went all Christmas so it has been sitting on a shelf forgotten. Ooops. I turned a 12x12 paper into a frame. On the flower print I used my trimmer to cut the square out of center and then pop dotted it onto the plain 12x12. Then go punch happy! I punched out several butterflies and arranged them. This would make a beautiful piece of artwork on a wall. With the scrap from the square I cut out of center.....I made the matching card.

One last quick post before the holidays. Here is a real simple little gift you can make quick. I did all 5 in under 20 minutes and they will be some treats Christmas day for my nephews and my boys. I just choose a paper and cut into stripes and taped around the mini candy bars. Then stuffed into a baggie and added a topped cut with Spellbinders. But you can cut just a square and add ribbon, gems, glitter glue...anything you want.

Poinsttia Spellbinder Card

This card was our free make-n-take this past Thursday. I used the Rebecca embossing folder, Spellbinders poinsettia die (which I absolutely love!), Martha Stewart frond punch and then a Cheery Lynn die. All the papers are a text weight metallic which add extra glitz to the card. A Candi in the center and a gold bow to finish it off. Only a piece of the Cheery Lynn die was used. And if you have not been in the store to check out the Memory Box dies that arrived....awwwww. I bought 3 already to use in upcoming classes and placed another order yesterday for more of the gorgeous dies. They will be my new favorite for the moment.

O' christmas Tree

Happy Monday!! I could handle this weather all winter. I didn't freeze to death putting my cats in and out this morning =) This card was featured in our Extravaganza and will also be one of my cards in the class I am teaching this afternoon. When I was doing inventory on some paper this caught my eye and it already had the triangle pattern on the whole sheet. So since we were in full swing for coming up with tons of ideas for our Extravaganza......I 'saw' Christmas trees. So I just cut a small, medium and large row and then cut the triangles from each strip and poof! You have a tree.
And since we are loving the Candi here at Picture This....I added some of that for the ornaments and used Glue Dots to adhere a gold string weaving throughout the Candi's.

Shaker Card

Here is a card that was made for the Extravaganza and I just forgot to put it on the blog to share. The shaker bubbles are sold out but we still have some left with hearts so you could flip the theme and make them for Valentine's. The shaker bubbles are already done so you just add them to your card. I used Spellbinders to cut the circle on the front so it would peek through and embossed the front with a snowflake folder.

Here is my goodbye crew each morning and they are always there to greet me each night too. They know the sound of my car since they only run out to be by the door when I get home. You can walk in a circle from kitchen to living to stairs to kitchen and Ryan told me once Diablo runs in circles around this everytime he hears me come. It took about 15 shots this morning to get one that wasn't blurry to share. Try getting 3 to sit still long enough for a photo!!

StampAvie Bear

Todays card features a cute stamp by StampAvie. I colored it with Copics and the close up shows how adding lines with a white gel pen really add to it and I also used the Blender Copic on the face for dots.

Remember Little Moments

I did bright colors for the kids on most of their Chicago photos but for this beautiful one....I was able to go more dressy. I matted the photo and pop-dotted it onto another mat for added interest. The quote has glitter on it to match the glittered flowers and the colors matched the whole project. The flower spray is actually an acetate comes as one piece and I put some glue dots under the dark flowers to adhere it to the page and added a matching bow.

Another bright colored double layout for the kids....I used the Grand Calibur to cut out the circle in silver Mirricard to replicate the silver landmark in photo. Then added silver brads to both pages. I also did the mounting of photo and then pop dotting and mounting again on another color. I always do that if I want a certain photo to really pop. I choose the one with both the kids in. They make such a cute couple =)

My oldest and his girlfriend recently took a trip to Chicago so I took a break from the store projects and did a few pages for them. I was originally looking for a elegant cream patterned paper to match Marilyn Monroes dress but then I saw this and it screamed at me for more the kids style...had to remember who I was making the pages for. lol And I know my son loves everything bright!
I made a hinge on the bottom photo in order to hid another photo underneath so they have a interactive page.

Goodmorning. Another P4S from yesterday. This one was very easy since the paper did all the work.
Just because we are all getting shorter and shorter on time doesn't mean we have to give up the beauty of
our pages. Let the huge selection of papers do the work for you. You can still jazz up your pages with some foofoo. I just added the ribbon and a metallic flower and it seemed enough for this page.

Butterfly Flight

I am working on pages-for-sale today and a few of these are going to hit the floor this afternoon. I punched the butterflies out of the matting for the photo mat. It gets hidden anyway. Usually when I am doing wings propped up on a page....I will put a tiny piece of mounting foam underneath what I want to stay propped up so once it is in my album....it stays elevated some.

A fun card and I have not gotten to play with My Minds Eye in awhile so I chose one of their papers to design this card for a past class. Spellbinders dies were used on the front for all the layering. I am the layer queen at the store here. Just my style. Some bling and a bow was added and poof! You have a card. the inside was coordinated with some of the paper from front and a Spellbinder border die.

Graphic 45 and Elizabeth Craft Design Ultrafine glitter

This too was a card from a class I taught. Several Spellbinders were used and the fairy from a Graphic 45 paper. We put the doublesided adhesive sheet over the fairy and trimmed to size and then covered with ultrafine clear glitter and burnished it in. This helps bring out the sheen and makes sure it is adhered to the adhesive good. The flower was made from the Spellbinders Rose Creation and I just curved the petals up to give them demension.

I didn't do the extra step with the gold leafing and just attached the stickers. Still very pretty but the extra things you do to your projects are what really set them apart.

Gold Leafing with Elizabeth Craft Design peel offs

Goodmorning! Hope everyone survived the holiday weekend and Black Friday craziness. I had both my boys home over Thanksgiving so I made the huge meal Thursday with all the trimmings. (Ryan...the college student....had the entire cherry pie at all by himself within 48 hours!)

This card was one from a class I taught last Monday and I think all the gals loved learning how to do this. Usually I have used the Dreamweavers embossing paste as my base for Gold Leafing. But I tried something and it actually worked so I shared. I covered a small piece of cardstock with a glue pen and let it dry some. Then covered the entire area with gold leafing and burnished the excess off. Then applied the Elizabeth Craft Design leaf sticker over the top and trimmed around the leaf. I was very happy with the results and will be using this method again.

Today I am showing you how I took one 12x12 paper and turned it into 2 cards with very little effort. I only added the stamped vertical Merry Christmas to one card. the rest is all just letting the paper do the work. And there was enough left to also put some on the inside of one as well. Create smarter.....not harder.

I added the Flower Soft and a white snowflake brad. The swirl embossing is a Tim Holtz embossing set and on the inside you can see a pine border by Martha Stewart.

Goodmorning. This was from a quad paper where you get a pattern on one side but on the other there are 4 6x6 squares with each a different pattern. It enabled me to make a card with several patterns without having to use 3-4 pieces of paper.

Here both the possitive and negative of the snowflake are being used so there is no waste. The Sizzix flake die was used along with Twinery Bakers Twine and Tim Holtz distressing ink.

I choose a paper that had a repeat pattern and then cut it out 3 times using smaller Nestabilites each time. I like the effect but would not recommend for mass card producing. lol

Here is a cute little gift idea. Pick any double sided cardstock and cut to matchbook size. I used a gluedot to attach the peppermint to the inside and embellished the front.

Welcome to day four....today we all are featuring 3D projects. We have such a huge selection of gorgeous papers at Picture This....that we aren't just a scrapbooking and rubber stamping store....we truely are your destination for inspiration. I took just a tablet and put patterned paper on the inside and outside of the covers and then used the Just Rites to spell out 'Holiday Planner'. I also decorated a plain white pilar candle using the Elizabeth Craft Design products. (check out the class board...we are fortunate again to have Elaine coming up to teach another of her wonderful classes on the 29th)

Welcome to day two....today we are featuring Spellbinders. I used the tree die, circle and scalloped circle dies to create this fun card along with their tag one for the slot for the spinner to spin back and forth in. The paper already had the beautiful glitter swirls on it so that saved me a step. Don't you just love all the choices of papers out there today? We have over 6000 differnet patterns to choose from on any given day. Fun!!
The trees were created by cutting extras and folding down the middle and glueing to each other to get the 3D look. We have a huge selection of Spellbinders for your creative needs too.

featuring "Judith" stamps. I chose to use the newest birdhouse and chickadee stamps. I stamped one on the envelope as well to coordinate it. I went with a A6 size verses the standard A2.

You can't see in the photo very well but I inked one side of the embossing folder with a light pink
ink so when it embossed....it pushed the ink into the design. Looks cool in person. I used a glimmery
background paper and added some bling. Loving the Candi legless brads.

And sharing the joy is exactly what we did today at our Busy Elves Extravaganza. I personally thank everyone who attended. We ended up with 75 projects displayed that were kept top secret til today. Here is a page that hit the Picture This floor as a Page Kit over the weekend. I had the girls cut the title and bees on our Pazzle diecutting machine and embossed the matting and poof!! Super cute page. Supplies are limited since it wiped out the remaining paper so get yours before they are gone.

But I liked how it turned out so I picked a different set of colors so I can have samples of each together so when I am explaining the power of color....I will have something to show. Happy Monday!! I made a page for sale out of the pretty floral paper and wanted to use up the rest of the
paper so I grabbed a PaperCrafts catalog and choose a couple cards to try. That enabled me to get 2 cards done quickly and not have 'scraps'!! The buttons were off our Buffet Table. I was able to walk up front and match single buttons to my paper. The medallion flower was created by trimming twelve 1 and 1/4 inch squares and folding into cones and stapling at the bottom. I used Glossy Accent to hold the buttons together and to attach to the paper clips. (it is like superglue in the scrapbooking industry!) Tim Holtz taught me that in one of the classes I took with him when I still had my store in Eleva.

Cheery Lynn Lacey Pumpkin

I am suppose to be working on Christmas cards but I had to make this. I ordered in the new dies from Cheery Lynn and they arrived a week ago and I wanted to play with the die before its too late. Fall is my favorite and it always gets skipped right over since we are always doing holiday cards in full force at the store. So I just kept it super simple so I could squeeze it in today =) The Cherry Lynn dies are sooo detailed...I love that. They work in your Cuttlbebug but I put 2-3 pieces of cardstock between the plates to get a tighter fit due to all the detail. There is also a metal adaptor plate we carry meant for use in the CB.
And yet another compnay made in the USA. I carry over 200 different companies at Picture This and over half are American made.

Goodmoring. I am at the store creating today for our Extravaganza but every so often the piles of baskets of leftover pieces from classes just gets on my nerves so I have to do a little clean up before I can create. Ever notice how we are always having to cleanup after our creating?
I had done the card on the left for a class a couple months ago and I had enough pieces left to do one card so I choose to do the opposite so you can see the options with your embossing folders. Each card was inked directly on the embossing folder....only one was inked on one side and the other was inked on the opposite side. So you can see the difference here. I use Tim Holtz distressed ink pads since they wash off easy with water when I am done.

Fall Squirrel using Copics

All of us gals here at Picture This have fallen in love with the Authentic 6x6 papers that arrived. So you will no doubt be seeing lots of it. I ordered the complete collection so at least you will view a variety between all of us gals and our samples for the store. It is really nice for card making.....enough to do the front and inside of your card and not have the rest of an entire 12x12 left over. I overlapped 2 of the Fancy Tags dies and then used a scrap of the crisscross green and cut some grass with a border punch. All the coloring was done
using Copic markers. (Y11, YG03, YG93, E31, E42, YR01, W1, W2, E97, E99)

StampingBella colored with Tim Holtz distress inks

Goodmorning. I tried something new over the weekend........coloring with Distress Ink pads. I still prefer the Copics but I like to try new things as well. I took a acrylic block and then blotted ink from the pads onto the block. Then I was able to lift the color off as I needed it with a damp paintbrush. If you like watercoloring then you would enjoy trying this. I like the better control I have with Copics. And I absolutely loved this stamp when it arrived at Picture This. I am sure I was the 1st to buy it and then it sat on my to-do pile for over a month. So it was fun to finally use it.

Stamps by Judith Kitty Witch

I did another version a few weeks ago with a black cat. I wanted this one to look like one of mine with
her white belly and paws. I used the Copic Multiliner pen to make my own spot on the belly. On the cheeks I lightly touched the point of the blender pen a few times to leave tiny white spots for the whisker area. (love the fun things you can do with the Copic markers) And then I needed a little accent to finish the card so I was looking for a tiny black flower but then as walked past the buffet table I decided the wooden piece would be perfect.

Spooktacular Treats

I am here at the store today playing. Here is a quick treat container you can whip up for your favorite grandchildren, nieces, nephews or whoever. Take a piece of 8x11 and I cut from top to bottom leaving and inch on the top and spaced inch and half apart. You can adjust however you wish for the size of your couldron. I put a circle underneath to then glue the bottoms around to creat the couldron. I used a border
punch for the handle and brads to attach it. Then added the finishing touches with the Tim Holtz Rosette die and Spellbinders bat die.

Bug-a-boo

I designed this for our make-n-take this past Thursday. And I wasn't even here for it. Dawn and I made a
road trip to go speak to stores about a bus trip. We have 2 that have agreed for a spring bus trip =) And I think they both are perfect for what I know our customers are looking for. Both have stamps.

The patterned paper is glitter so it adds that little extra glitz to this card. The bug stamp was colored with Copics and then Stickles was added to the wings. The flowers were done with a Dienamics flower set. And the new Edgeabilities was used along the side. Speaking of Dies.....have you stopped in the store to check out the 3 new Spellbinders sets that only Crafter Home stores can offer to you thru January?

Alcohol Inks

Last card from Mondays class. I showed them how to use alcohol inks on glossy paper. If you have Copic refills then you can use them just like you do the Alcohol inks. And speaking of Copics......look at the awesome carrying cases that just arrived yesterday!!!!
The card was done with the inks first and then stamped with black Staz On afterward. The gemstone on the flower was clear and I showed my students how to custom color with your Copics.

Another card from Mondays class......the gals got to get hands on working with the Spellbinders dies that coordinate with the Heartfelt Creations stamps. We made a template first and then tape the die so it works as a hinge.....lift the hinge to match the negative of the die over the stamp image. Easy.

Here is a quick and fun little treat bag to give to all your ghosts and goblins this year....or kids, grandkids, etc. Fill your clear bag with treats and then make the cute topper. I used the Spellbinder label die and bat die and then added some black ribbon. The bat is pop-dotted. You could make several out of one sheet of paper and it didn't take long to whip up at all.

Who says 3's a Crowd?

Here is Little Lucy amongst the big boys. (keep in mind she has doubled in size in past 3 weeks).
Diablo, the Siamese, has warmed up to her and they chase each other throughout the house. But Shadow, the fat cat, has not. (And HE is the one who needs to be running around) He still glares at me each time Lucy is in his vicinity. Its comical. And little Lucy will try to play with him but he isn't having nothing to do with that....yet.

3D Pumpkin

I saw this on the internet and have been waiting to try it. Just cut several circles out, ink edges, fold in half and keep glueing the halfs together. Then add stems, twigs, leaves or curlies. The bottom of the circles were cut off just a little on all so there would be a flat part at bottom of pumpkin for it to sit. I may use a real twig for any future ones I make for decoration in my home.

I know our yard is full of leaves swirling about...how about yours? I love the simplicity of this card but it is still so elegant. And I felt it needed the swirl embossed pattern in the background to replicate the wind. lol
This is actually using Elizabeth Craft Designs glimmer sheets. It has the same result as gold mirri card. The irredescent ones have more of a punch when embossed.

Todays project featured Tim Holtz products. I choose to use his dies and embossing folder to make a holiday card. (that will be here too soon too!) I spritzed the blue with Tattered Angels for the extra glitz. The closeup shows it somewhat. You'll just have to come see all the cards displayed at the store for a better
look =) I used a dark blue Copic marker to color a clear gem to match the card.

Fab 5 Day 3 "Bling"

Welcome to day three. Are those creative juices flowing? Today our projects feature "bling". We women love our bling. And one of the new companies we had gotten in was Zva and it is ALL bling. I used 1/2 of a sheet on this card. They come on a clear sheet so you can hold it over your card to see where you want it and how much you want to use. Another neat product that came in is the epoxy Santa. There are over a dozen assorted snowmen and Santa's so I figure I can make several cards from one package. I misted the entire card when I was done with Tattered Angels glimmer mist to give the whole card a subtle sheen. I like the final results.

I have been impatiently waiting to play with the New Heartfelt Creations we got in the store. And they are one of the companies that has partnered with "Spellbinders" so that the dies match the stamps. How fun is that and the possibilities are endless. So I used the Cardinal stamps and then the coordinating cardinal die to cut the shape out to pop dot it. The close up shows the cardinal and a flower pop-dotted. I used my Copics to color my gems to match the card.

Goodmorning. I got to play a little over the weekend. If you don't have a lot of time but really
like to make Halloween cards for the grandkids or whoever......this is a super quick card that you can
do in just a couple minutes. The paper already is embossed and weathered. So one 12x12 sheet with
make 6 cards. Just cut to card front size, add to your card base and add 2 googly eyes. It cannot get much
easier then this. And its pretty cute too. I added a stamped spider on inside and a Happy Halloween sentiment.

Wedding Bells

Our Lacey here at the store got married over the weekend so this is the card I made to give to them. It was a beautiful wedding. The embossed Mr & Mrs is from one of the new Cuttlebug sets that arrived a couple weeks ago.

New addition to the family

This is the newest addition to the Jacobs residence. We had 3 feral kittens show up a couple weeks ago. And being the cat lover that I am.....I tried every chance I got to get close to them to touch them. After a week of my son and I trying, we were finally able to touch 2 of the 3 while they were eating. But if they glanced around and saw us.....poof!! Gone. This little black one was the most scared and wouldn't even let us get within 10 feet of it. No momma cat ever came so I assume something happened to her.
And meanwhile I was in the process of loosing my grandma who has been on hospice for 8 months. Her funeral was last Friday. She was my gma, mom and best friend all rolled into one. Well when we got back from Illinios the only kitten remaining was the black one. So coyote or something got the other 2. But now this teeny kitten who wouldn't let us even near it came right up to me and meowed and I held her and she purred. Thats Gods hand. So my husband groaned and said "Go get its shots". =) He has said no more cats but I am up to 4. lol.
So she is named after my grandma....her middle name was Lucille so here is our little Lucy. The 2 indoor cats too right to her..........which is not normal either. the outside cat does not like sharing our back deck with Lucy at all. But he will come around in time.

A simple but elegant card for today. The saying and flowers are on the same Just Rite stamp. Then I cut it out with the proper size oval Nestie and paired it with its scalloped oval. Don't you just love Spellbinders? I don't know how we survived before then came along. I love always being able to layer things. The flowers were colored with Copics and then I added some yellow Flower Soft to the centers for interest. The white oval was edged with a gold leafing pen. Happy Wednesday. The watercolor effect on this card fits in with the drizzle we are getting today. This was a card from my class Monday. The gals got to play with the new alcohol stains by Tim Holtz. They are easy to use and I like the final results.
