Fab 5 ~ Tim Holtz Rosette

Welcome to Fab 5.  This time we are featuring the rosette die. So you will have 5 ideas between our blogs to use for the Rosette die. I choose the new Pebbles paper line since it was springy and used the small and medium rosettes (come on same die) for my Fab 5 project. Added 3 pearls to finish it off and poof! I am ahead for a Mother's Day card this year.

Be sure to hop on over to the other blogs and leave a comment on at least one of them for a chance to win a prize. You can also play along this week by making something with the rosette die and posting it on our FB page by friday midnight May 4th and one person will win a prize for that as well.  We will randomly draw this time but please leave comments for the gals who particiapate so they know you appreciate their idea.
Have fun and have a great week!!

Don't forget our Customer Thrift Sale is this Sat. too from 10-4. (no credit card sales in the thiftsale items room)

I am sure I will hear many stories this week and what treasures you found. A lot of work goes on to put it on so it is super great to know it was a success.  I went home and slept from 830pm-630am so I know I was bushed.
Now don't forget to tune into our blogs tomorrow for another Fab 5. We will be featuring Tim Holtz rosette dies this time. Leave a comment on one of the blogs for a change to win a prize. why?

Another P4S from the weekend. I had to use my Cheery Lynn die again. I really like this die. The chipboard sayings are leftovers from a previous project.  This is a easy enough design that you could take a paper out of your stash and follow the sketch. Add flowers or journaling where the chipboards are, use gems for the flourish is you don't have a die. So grab your scraps and a piece of 12x12 patterned paper that has been collecting dust and make a page.

We received a huge shipment at Picture This today from Memory Box dies.....several new ones from this past release as well. So you can look forward to seeing even more fun samples/classes at the store with the new.

Happy Birthday

I still can't see half my blog so I am not listing all the supplies in the meantime til this is figured out.  This is from a past class I taught at Picture This as well. I got the sketch offline and then flipped it to papers and dies I had. The flowers were edged with gold ink to tie in the gold vellum flowers and the gold candi dot in center of large flower. The large flower is Spellbinders Rose Creation and the flourish is by My Favorite Things. We got in new colors of Candi's this past week ....one of them being TIGER stripes!!!!! Whoo hoo.

Purple Hummer

Goodmorning. Another P4S. None of it is available at Picture This....other then the finished project.

Here are a couple cards from past classes that didn't make it onto the blog yet. I see blogger has hcanged everything so I am battling to get my blog uploaded today. I don't know why they can't leave well enough alone!!

Love is all you need

I was able to be at the store over the weekend working on upcoming classes, pages for sale and a page kit. This will be put on floor as a page for sale. The leaves were done with a new My Favorite Things leaf die that I just bought. How fun. Love the detail and it does it in one swoop through the Cuttlebug. I then sanded the edges to bring out some white to tie in with the little bit of white splashed elsewhere on the page.
Supplies: papers are Basic Grey & My Mind's Eye, Kaiser Kraft flowers, My Favorite Things dies.

Best Friends

Goodmorning! Here is another P4S. I had the striped paper left over from a previous project and when I do pages for sale....I try to use up leftovers.  If you set out some tools you haven't used in a long time and some of your left overs when you create....then you will be more apt to use them. Otherwise they are out of sight...out of mind. So I challenge you to use your old with your new.
On this page I used a Memory box essex die and a My Favortie Things flourish die. If you are a scrapper and do not have a Cuttlebug or Big Shot....you are missing our on all the fun with all the dies available today.
Then I added some MS hydrangia flowers to the vine and pearls. Easy, quick and yet pretty.

Mark your calendars.....a week from today we have Fab 5 again and this time we are using the Tim Holtz Rosette die.  You are welcome to play along again for a chance to win some goodies. We will have blog candy and goodies to the customer winner so start creating using the rosette. And be sure to tune in next Monday and leave a comment for chance to win some goodies.

Fred Bear

This is also from a past class. The close up shows the neat detail on the vine diecut. It is a Cheery Lynn die and you only have to run it through your Cuttlebug once for it to cut and give you the detail. I always put a shim (a piece of cardstock) the same size or bigger between the A and the C plate and then the die sharp side up. You always always want the sharp side up in your Cuttlebug machine.

Multi Cards

I saw this flocked paper on the floor and decided it would make a good class or card kit. You get several images from one sheet so you can make several cards from one sheet of paper then as well. A lot of companies have patterns that are more card friendly.

Cat Show

Here are some photos from the Cat Show this past weekend. I love the cat with the mustache...that IS its fur!  The bottom one was late in the day and the cat was just laying there sleeping....I think it had enough. lol.
There were some very very pretty cats at the show. It killed me though to be around so many cats and guess what? You can't touch hardly any of them!! So that stunk.

White Christmas

I was up to the store over Easter weekend creating up a storm. I had planned on being here all weekend while the creative juices were flowing....but then my youngest asked me Sat. night what I was cooking for Easter? Huge sigh. So I had to grocery shop at 6 am...stick the pork roast in a crock pot while at the store and then head home at 200 to finish the rest of the meal.
But here are some pages I made over the weekend.  I started with the Christmas one with my cat Shadow. And then ended up making the Grandma one as a page for sale but fell in love with it so then it snowballed into a kids class with different papers and a page kit for the floor with a family title.  It is sooo easy to get side tracked here.   The rose die is from Cheery Lynn and it was the first I got to play with it so I got carried away playing with it. I love love love it. I added a close up of the santa hat...I added Flower Soft to that to add to the snow theme.

Supplies: My Minds Eye papers, CS, Cheery Lynn and CB dies, Flower Soft, Quick Quotes vellum, Fiskars border punch.

Sweet Girls

I made this for a page for sale. I love the tone on tone with the diecuts. And the Candi dot on the button was a nice touch as well.  So just a simple page idea for you today.

One of a Kind

I bought the large flourish die from Cheery Lynn since I loved the small one and couldn't wait to play with it. So I used it over the weekend on pages for sale, samples and page kits. I was having fun with it!!

Supplies: Basic Grey paper, CS, Scienic Route chipboard sayings, Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn

Penny Black Deer

I had colored the image with Copics several months ago and it laid on my workbench until this past weekend when I finally choose some scraps and made it into a card.

Judith Stamps Rock!!

I received the top one on right this past month as a sample from Judith so I flipped it into a card class with paper products we had and using Copics instead of the Tombow markers she uses. I love Judith stamps. Once it was all colored and assembled...then I covered the butterflies, flower and stems with Glossy Accents. The close up shoes how that adds extra impact to your project.

Supplies: Judith stamps, Memento ink, Copics, Glossy Accents, CS.

Birthday Cards

The one on the left was from my kids class and the one on the right was leftovers from class so I made another card since everything was already coordinating.

Homecoming

I had tried doing these photos for Ryan's graduation 2 years ago and couldn't but now a paper came in that I love and worked with the clash in clothes.  Don't ask.   I love the shabby chic sytle of the latest My Minds Eye collection of papers. I sent a cell photo of page to Ryan when I finished and he sent a 'lol' back that I finally made it. It happened to be the gals birthday that day too.

Lucy

Miss Lucy fetching a new toy. she usually only fethces her fuzzy balls but this ball seems to work when she wants.  I had to drop her off at 8 am this morning to be spayed/declawed and so it will be a long day until I can pick her back up at 5pm.  It is hard to leave them when they are scared. I hope today goes super fast!

Spring Fever

This was a cute card idea I got off Pinterest or blogosphere and I just worked with papers and punches I had. It was perfect for a kids class so my kids this past Wednesday got to create this fun card. It really gets them thinking outside the box too and that things can be used for more then just a circle, heart or whatever.

Supplies: My Mind's Eye papers, CS, Candi dot, various punches, gem.

Sitting Here Thinking...

Another card from a class with coordinating papers. I just walk the store to find 3 papers with different patterns that will all match and then pick a sketch from my book and start cutting.

Supplies: Judith stamp, Copics, My Favorite Things die, Best Creations glitter paper, ribbon, Spellbinders dies, CS.

Peek

This was a fun card I did in class the other night. The background papers are glittery so it adds the little extra to the card and we used glossy Accents on the hearts as well.  This card and a coordinating will hit the floor next week as a card kit.
My husbands friend and wife just had a baby girl so I altered one of the cards for a "It's A Girl" card for them.

Supplies: Judith stamps, glossy accents, Copic markers, ribbon, CS.

Get Well Tube

Happy Easter everyone. My favorite holiday....soft furry bunnies and chocolate!!

Final project from the Get Well class. These tubes are a lot of fun. It is endless what you can do with them. this one is filled with cough drops and has the cute bear tag added. We sold out of them this week since everyone was using them for Easter treat tubes. I know there are a dozen sitting in our shipment we didn't get to on Friday. The custom school papers came and I thought that should be put through the POS system and out on the floor for everyone working in senior albums right now and grad invites.

Supplies: SRM tubes, Judith bear stamp and Copic markers (E31, E34, R20, CO)

Butterfly Duo

I taught a Get Well Card class last week so I wil be posting the projects from that class. This one was using the Exotic butterfly set of dies from Cheery Lynn. I got the card sketch out of my tablet of on-going sketches I gather and just walked the floor to find papers I wanted to work with.

Mark your  calendars....our annual Customer Thrift Sale will be May 5th this year.  Everyone looks forward to it each year for the awesome deals and/or getting rid of things they are no longer using for in-store credit in the form of a gift certificate.
