Fancy Free

Our 12 Days of Christmas special today is all "My Minds Eye" 40% off. So it seemed only right to
feature a layout using all My Minds Eye. They have such awesome coordinated products that it just makes creating quick and easy. This is using all MME product except the Tim Holtz ink I used to distress the edges and the star Nesties to cut out the stars for accent pieces.

Butterfly Serenity

This is another page I made a couple weeks ago and forgot to post. It is a limited quanity Page Kit now at Picture This. The diecut butterflies have the raised embossing so I inked the raised parts and then inked around the scalloped paper and some edges to blend it all together. With the little Versacolor squares....you can own every color and always have the right color on hand for your projects.

Supplies: Autumn Leaves diecut paper, Quick Quote background paper, May Arts ric rac, Basic Grey chipboard pieces and Spellbinders butterfly diecut and Cuttlebug fancy corner die.

Piggy Bank

We got the new "Judith" stamps in a week ago and I finally got to play with some this weekend.
I masked the trees bottom for the piggy bank and then pop-dotted the pig. In light of ur 12 Days of Christmas going on at the store.........this one was appropriate for all the money you can save over the 12 days. Copic markers were used to do the coloring and an EK Success corner punch for a little pazazz. Her tree is usually so large that it doesn't leave much room for patterned papers on the outside.

Grizzly Bear

Not done with your Christmas cards yet? Or want a special one for a few people....this is one of my favorites. It is using "Judith" stamps. I used to always use brown chalks to color her bear images but since the discovery of Copic markers in the card making industry.....this is even more fun to create!! See how there is no streaking like you would get with other markers. They blend sooo smoothly.
I put Glossy Accents on the light bulbs so they look lit up but the photo isn't showing that very well. This card was suppose to be a class but I ran out of 2009 to teach it. Time flies. So now it is just a sample in the store.
Supplies: Judith stamps, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Glossy Accents, Copic markers, Kaisr Kraft flowers, May Arts ribbon and white luster cardstock.

Diablo

This is my sassy Siamese Diablo. He never meowed until I got another cat who did and he learned how to after 3 years of not. At 1st it was a very weak, sad attmept. But I'd say he has purrfected it now quite well and lets me know exactly when he is ready to be fed or anything else. Cats truely own us and not the other way around. lol
I made a border strip using the Cuttlebug embossing and the gem in center of the flower was clear and I used my Copics to custom color it to match the page. I made my own photo frame using a border cut.
Supplies: Creative Imagination paper, Copic marker, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Daisy D's flower stickers, Spellbinder Fleur De Lis border, pop-dots and Hero Art gemstone.

Kitties Return

The kittens who showed up at our house a week or so ago were back Sunday for a bit. I now know they are residing in the neighbors shed. Three of the 5 came and sunbathed on our deck for a few hours.

Ornament

I got to create at home yesterday so I will have things to post for you all this week. Whoo hoo.
The top card is similiar to one we did in our Card marathon earlier this year but I wanted to use the A2 Fleur De Lis embossing folder. I also used metallic cardstocks and the Fleir De Lis by Nestabilities as well.
The little ornament is something I've been wanting to do for awhile....only on a more eleborate level ...but with Christmas coming way too fast....will share this simplier idea in case anyone whats to use for small gift ideas.
I used the scallop punch and mounting foam to create a shadow box effect. The reindeer is a sticker out of a EK Success sticker set that has an assortment so each ornament could be different. All supplies at store. The first 5 to mention this week that you saw this idea on my blog will receive 40% off the pink scalloped punch by Marvy.

Winter Fun

With the snow lightly coming down here this morning.....this is the perfect layout to post. This is a page I taught in a Kids Class 2 nights ago. The bottom border has a row of cute snowmen. I used the back side of a My Minds Eye for the base as the blue worked perfect with the colors of the other papers I picked out. The snowflakes and fancy corner were done using the Cuttlebug.
Custom diecutting title was done by Picture This. And the bling. It always adds so much.

I am offering 2 Cuttlebug 101 classes this month. I had a request for one workshop and soon found out many were interested. So if you need a refresher or want to learn how to use all the different dies avaiable out there in your awesome green machine..........call the store to reserve your spot in one of the 2 classes. 830-9555

Buena Vista

Another page from when us gals got to create all day this past Satruday. If you are ever in Alma...you have to go up the ridge and walk out to see the view from Buena Vista. You overlook the town and Mississippi river.
Supplies: Stamping Station papers, Worldwin CS, May Arts ribbon and suede leaves, Prima flowers and Picture This custom diecutting. I used an exacto knife to cut the leaf pattern in paper to tuck photo underneath and inked the white flower in center to blend in more with the layout. I am always inking the edges of things, whether they be on my cards or my pages.

Sunset

There was a beautiful sunset last night. I usually don't get to see sunrises or sunsets since I am at the store so early and leave so late. So I had to take photos of this.

Happy Thanksgiving

Its that time of year when we all reflect on what we are thankful for. Here's a fun card to celebrate the day. (although I don't think the turkey is too thankful its Thanksgiving)
I used oval Nesties, a flower punch for the feet, Moxie paper, Worldwin cardstock and inked the edges for a more 3D look.
Enjoy your day with family and friends.

Kitty Surprize

My husband called the store last night while I was teaching class and I was left the message of it was a 'man emergency'. He found 4 kittens by our deck. He said when I called their eyes were barely opened. So I fretted they'd never make it without a mama.
By the time I got home the number grew to 5 and I was happily suprized to see they were well past weaning. (some of their eyes are icky so maybe he thought they just opened??) So I cleaned up all the eyes and gave them lovings and food and made a warm spot out on deck for them. They are extremely tame so waiting to see if they were just dropped off, if the mama is still near or if wandered down from a neighbors house. In the meantime, I'll treasure their presense. I've been told NO as I have 3 cats now but I can be creatively pursuasive. =)
Speaking a animals in need................our Paws for a Cause were dropped off at the store yesterday. So you can once again buy a paw ornament for your tree and the money goes to help the EC animal shelter.

Snowfight

Snow is a long ways off with the unusually warm weather we are having. But I am trying to use up some left over snowflake stickers we had from our last Card Marathon. I couldn't find any paper in the Christmas section to match the stickers so I wandered the store til I found some. With over 10,000 patterned papers to choose from under one roof...........its never that hard to find something.
Supplies: Reminisce stickers, MS gooey punch, Coredinations CS, Snowflake embossing folder, Daisy Bucket papers, May Art ribbon, Picture This diecut title and gemstones.

White Bliss

I love the monochromatic cards. This is using metallic cardstock. I used 2 different Cuttlebug embossing folders, Cuttlebug concentric heart die and then various sizes of daisy punches. The pearl accents add the final touch. All these supplies can be found at Picture This.

Baaaaaa

Cute quick card. Could even be a birthday card. This is using Cuttlekids Sophie the Lamb diecut.
I accented with May Arts ribbon and Hero Arts black gems. A Fiskars border punch was used on the black strip.

Got Coffee?

I was working on getting odds and ends cleaned up from previous classes over the weekend. I just added the Changito monkey to this card front to complete it. Copics were used for all my coloring over the weekend. I tried taking a close-up of the coffee mugs but still can't see very well. I used the crystal laquer on the cups to make them shiny. Papers are Basic Grey. Stamp is Stampendous.

Bling

This was one of the 4 cards I offered in my Vintage Two Card class the other night. No stamping necessary at all on this when you have such pretty papers to work with. I used the nesties for the layering and pop dotted the 1st and last layer. I used bling on the flower tips. And then the Cuttlebug embossing borders for the middle. Poof! A card. This paper is My Minds Eye.

More Tiger Tales

Time for another Tiger Tale. This photo is from 2001 when my sister Lisa and I volunteered with the tigers for a day. We got to help bath the cubs. That was my favorite part. But all the volunteers got to have photo taken with a big tiger at the end of the day. I wrapped my arm around that beautiful animal and savored every second. This tigers name is Jess. It was fun getting to know the cubs one year and then the next time I'd see them they'd be big. I have scrapbooks of my tiger adventures. Another awesome reason to scrapbook besides preserving your family photos...........to relive all those fun times too!

Cardinals in Winter

This is another card I got to create over the weekend when I spent it all weekend at the store in my craft studio. (it has a patio door so I will be lofty and call it a studio) ha
I am usually at the store everyday anyway but the guys were youth hunting so I could be here 'guilt free'. It makes the time all that much more fun. I think the creative juices flow better too =)
This card was made with Copics in mind. And I was rigth to assume they'd be great on this image. I was able to blend the female cardinal perfectly and Copics make any brown blend seamlessly. With other markers you see the lines with each stroke. The background paper has glitter in it so then I was compelled to use the new Flower Soft Polar White that also has shimmer in it. It all worked together for a very elegant card.
This will be one offered in my "Winter Wishes" card class Nov. 9th but I also think it can be used for several other types as well. Unfortunely we all need sympathy cards and this would be a beuatiful one for that. Call the store to sign up for this class as I predict this one will fill up fast...it has 3 cards and they all turned out nice. (all from my weekend of fun!) 830-9555

Supplies: Northwoods stamp, Cornder punch, Copics, Flower Soft, Nestibilites,

Under Water Shaker Card

This card is for an upcoming Kids Club class. I used the swirl embossing folder on Coredinations cardstock and then sanded it so the 2nd color showed. Then I put a glittery fish paper under my
circle frame and pop dotted it, enclosed it with acetate and filled it with some beads and glitter and poof! You have a shaker card. The kids are going to love it.

Supplies: Coredinations, Bubble Corner punch, mounting foam, acetate, Nestabilities and Cuttlebug.

Floral Vase

This card was done using "Rubber Stamp Tapestry" stamps. These are fun stamps to work with since they are individual stick stamps so you have the freedom of so many different colors per design. The close up shows the Stickles glitter glue.
Supplies: Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Stickles
My Mind Eye Paper
Nestabilites, Cuttlebug embossing folder, versa color inks

Ghost Kitty

Too cute to spook. This is a card I am teaching tonight for a
Kids Club. I love cats so this whimsical image makes me smile. Just think of all the smiles we generate when we give our handmade cards. The photo doesn't show it well but I used Cuttlebug embossing folders on the smaller black rectangles for different textures. The ghost is actually 2 different "Judith" stamps. There are different types of feet to place under the ghost image. I used Copic markers to get the calico kitty look. My very 1st cat was a calico. We carry these stamps in store.

Tiger Tales

I wanted to share some of my tiger tales along the way. The sideways photo is from 2003. The other is from 2001. I have been volunteering at the State Fair with the tigers since 2001. I can not describe my passion for tigers. I am honored every time I get to touch one of Gods beautifulist animals. And estatic when I get to hold them....nevermind the cubs paws are bigger then me =)
I will share photos along the way of my tiger experiences. Love 'em. Don't ya just want to kiss their nose?

Happy Birthday

I made a quick card for my son yesterday who turned 14. The photo is blurry. =(
I put Stickles on the candles to give the effect of looking like they are lite, stamped the envelope with candle stamp used on the card.
Stamps: Judith
Tombow, Worldwin, Stickles, EK Success corner punches.
